Sera Hornstein is an American composer and pianist who was born in Los Angeles, California. Sera began taking private piano lessons at the age of twelve before going into her high school orchestra as a pianist. She began arranging for, and conducting, the orchestra in January of 2019. She worked with film composer Tony Morales for an arranging and composing mentorship where they collaborated with the Valley Chamber Ensembles to write and record an original wind quintet composition from September of 2019 to June of 2020. She also helped to write and produce songs on University High School’s 2019-2020 album. In 2020-2021, she volunteered as a piano teacher for non-profit group, Music for Milestones. In February of 2023, Sera had one of her works performed by violin and viola duo, Aperture Duo. In March of 2024, she scored a short film and had it performed live-to-picture by the Unheard-of Ensemble. Most Recently, she hosted a recital of six debut chamber works. She is currently attending CSUN to get her Bachelor of Music degree as a composition major.
